Celebrate Recovery was brought on-board here at Valley Christian Center in January of 2011.  Using the model of the original program created and implemented by Saddleback Church in southern California, we now offer this wonderful program to our  community and extend a warm welcome for you to attend.     

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-Step program based on the 8 Principles of the Bible.  This program is specifically designed to help those struggling with various hurts, habits, and hang-ups.  Celebrate Recovery provides a safe and productive environment once a week to address problem areas of our lives where we experience God’s grace, his forgiveness, and ultimate healing.

History of Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery began in Lake Forrest, California in 1991 by John Baker, a recovering alcoholic.  It was his desire to combine a 12 step recovery program with worship, where the Higher Power, Jesus Christ, would be called by name.  John presented his ideas to his Senior Pastor Rick Warren at the Saddleback Church where he attended.  Approval for the project was granted and with the encouragement from his pastor, John Baker developed the 12 Step Christian based recovery program known as Celebrate Recovery and began implementing it at the Saddleback Church.  This wonderful ministry has helped many to overcome and have victory over their struggles and addictions.   Since that first group began, Celebrate Recovery has grown tremendously and now exists throughout the United States and in many other countries abroad. 

Schedule

Thursdays

5:30-6:15 pm - Dinner. ($2.00 donation)  

6:30-7:30 pm - Large Group Session. 

Everyone meets together for a time of worship then a teaching or      

                         a testimony. 

7:30-8:30 pm - Open Share Groups (gender specific) – English/Spanish

    Meeting to discuss focus questions and recovery issues.

7:30-8:30 pm - Celebrate Recovery 101

Newcomers attend one-time meeting to learn about Celebrate

                         Recovery, hear personal mini-testimonies and have opportunity to

                         ask any questions.

 

8:30-9:30 pm - Solid Rock Café

    A time to fellowship over refreshments and dessert.

6:15-8:30 pm - Child Care – provided up to 5 years.

   Celebration Station - Kindergarten to 6th grade.  This is our 

   Celebrate Recovery program specifically designed for children at a 

   level they can understand.
